“Oslo” presented in “Cuban Cinema During the Confinement” programme

Short film Oslo (2012), directed by Luis Ernesto Doñas and produced by Empire Pictures’ Saana Räntilä, will be presented in “Cine Cubano in Cuarentena” (“Cuban Cinema During the Confinement”), a programme directed to distribute Cuban cinema during the COVID-19 and curated by Cuban filmmaker Marcel Beltrán.

Oslo has been previously selected to more than 40 international film festivals, winning dozens of awards (e.g. award for the Best Latin-American Short Film in the prestigious Viña del Mar film festival 2013), making it one of the most successful Cuban short films of all time.

”The Longest Day” world premiere at IFFR

”The Longest Day” (”Päivä ilman yötä”), co-produced by Empire Pictures, got its world premiere on 26th of January 2020 in the ”Voices Main Programme” of International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR). Empire Pictures was present at the festival, celebrating the premiere together with director Jonas Selberg Augustsén, actress Bianca Kronlöf, composer Andreas Mattsson, delegate producer Andreas Emanuelsson and executive producer Jan Blomgren.

”Mental Samurai Finland" to be released in February 2020

Produced by Empire Pictures’ Saana Räntilä, the new and exciting game show ”Mental Samurai Finland” will premiere on channel 4 (NELONEN) in february 2020. “Mental Samurai Finland” was shot in Spain, in the HUB of Warner Bros. International Tv Production. “Mental Samurai” is a highly succesful new format from the United States and Finland is the first country to adapt this game show in Europe.
